This web site was called stow-jones, because I could not find a short name with just jones in it that actually meant something. I suppose that I could have found a name with (say) strawberry_cottage in it. But even that name had gone. So we called it stow-jones, because Pat's maiden name was Stow and my surname was Jones. More about the family history in another place.
Chris is a Chartered Accountant who has spent more time building and maintaining management information systems for various companies than he has spent doing pure accountancy. But that is changing as Chris approaches retirement, he has decided that he does not wish to live out of the proverbial suitcase to get work. Find his business web site here.
Pat is a pharmacist, doing mainly locum work for local pharmacies. Pat is also fed up with things and is looking to start something new.
We moved to Cheshire in 2003, so that Chris could take a rest from contracting, which was no longer providing enough money for paying the bills. So he started working for a major credit card issuer based in Chester.
In 2005, Chris was offered early retirement, which he gladly took - the credit card company was taking too much of his time.
Now Chris takes contract work, primarily in the North West of England, and Pat does occasional locum work at local pharmacies, while chasing up local contractors to get work done on the house.
